We schedule volunteers for the ReStore on a case-by-case basis. Volunteers are asked to commit to multiple days of service. It is perfect for fulfilling community service hours.

Becoming a Volunteer is an easy and simple process.
Our unpaid internship is designed with you in mind.
College Students! Do you need work experience?
Our volunteers are one of our best assets to help run our store in order to serve our customers better. Volunteers' job duties range from light cleaning to warehouse work and often include customer service, loading and unloading vehicles, and answering our store phone. 
ReStore IT and Social Media Coordinator
 
Assists the ReStore Management with:
  • Social Media Management
  • Product listings for E-Commerce
  • Creating spreadsheets and sales reports for presentations
  • Data Entry
  • Additional IT work as needed
 
We have flexible hours. We understand that our interns have busy lives. Interns are encouraged to express their opinion on any improvements that could be made to the store. An intern should be able to commit to 5-10 hours a week and be proficient in both Microsoft Word and Excel.

Volunteer Policies
 
Volunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes. Come dressed in casual and comfortable clothing that will allow movement and may get dirty. 
 
Young adults the age of 17 and above are allowed to volunteer without adult supervision. 
 
Minors are required to have parental supervision, with one adult chaperone for every five children. Minors will also have a parental waiver that will need to be completed. 
 
Group Volunteers
 
We welcome group volunteers. We do hold volunteer days for groups that would like to volunteer together. Please contact Mike Liberto, ReStore Manager, at 301-662-2988 x3 for more information. 
 
Takeaways
 
Volunteering is a rewarding experience. Working at the ReStore exposes someone like you to many different people and new skillsets. Working at the ReStore can teach young adults a foundation of work skills to help build their resumes. It is a great chance to get involved in your local community.
